Falling through the cracks...

I swore it wouldn't happen.  I read through a lot of my old blog entries before Calvin was born and I told myself it was much too important to not keep up these blog updates because there are so many details that I easily forget.  And then, I got busy and tired.  So here is my attempt to record our adventures from this past fall.

Calvin's first Carmel High School football game!  He was in the middle of some of his worst reflux/dairy intolerance issues but of course he slept through the entire outing.  Carolyn loved watching the football game and band and when the Channel 13 helicopter showed up she thought it was for her since she had asked a few days earlier when she got to ride in a helicopter.

On Labor Day we made our first trek to Ft. Wayne.  The weather wasn't great but Carolyn got some time in the pool before a quick dinner with the family at Pine Valley and we topped off the weekend with a trip to the Ft. Wayne Zoo.

Conner Prairie Festival Fun- One sleep deprived Sunday afternoon I noticed on twitter that Conner Prairie was having a festival that would be open for another two hours so we decided to venture over there.  Carolyn experienced her first face painting and pony ride on a pony named Copper.  She loved both.

CHS Homecoming- I have always worked homecoming day so I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to go be a spectator in the community.  C and her friends had a blast and it was fun to see these future greyhounds (likely) get in on the fun.  The day included going out to lunch, watching the CHS parade, and getting ice cream!

Apple Picking at Stuckey farms.  On a beautiful fall day we decided to venture out to the farm.  Calvin was a spectator from his carrier (he lived in that thing the first six months of his life).  We had a blast picking apples and pumpkins.

Butler Homecoming 2013
While our BU Homecoming celebrations are very different than a few years ago, Butler does a great job ensuring that there is something for everyone and they have a great family atmosphere.  Calvin was a trooper during his first trip to BU and C had a blast getting her picture taken with the cheerleaders and eating breakfast at mommy's old sorority house.  We had a great time!

The biggest teddy bear in the world at mommy's sorority.

Carolyn's first field trip! Calvin and I met Carolyn's class for their first field trip at a local farm that we love to visit as a family.  We learned about all things fall, went on a hayride, and then got to pick out a pumpkin to take home.  Carolyn's highlight was her first ride on a real school bus.

Impromptu trip to Brown County State Park
Another sleep-deprived Saturday night left us wanting to do something, anything, to get outside and enjoy the day.  So we made a quick trip down to Brown County.  My dad called with the exciting news that he had a last-minute extra ticket for that night's game against the Denver Broncos so we had to get back in time for mommy to make it to the game!

Peyton's return to Indy!

Calvin's Baptism - October 27, 2013
We were very lucky to have so many family and friends attend Calvin's baptism at our church.  We had many people travel from far away to attend and we are so happy that everyone could come.  We are also very appreciative that our dear friends Dave and Cary Schwartz agreed to be Calvin's godparents.  They are a great example of Christian love and we know that Calvin will learn a lot about Christ from their example.

That folks, is our fall of 2013 in a nutshell!

*Note- I seriously started this draft back in January...
